The Salazar family has been an important influence in the Spanish mountain region of Valdelobos for centuries, starting with Gregorio Salazar, the first Count of Valdelobos (who built the Salazar Castle), to his direct descendant Ramón, today.

The family badge is used in Resident Evil 4 by Ashley to open a gate and gain access to the castle's Great Hall.

This replica medallion is embossed in antique gold, is one of only 2005 in existence worldwide (in reference to the original release of Resident Evil 4) and is individually numbered on the reverse.
