Kagome is the first born child and only daughter of Mr. Higurashi and Mrs. Higurashi.

She was named after the bright light her mother saw when she was born in Sōgō Hospital.

Kagome's heart is pure and kind, always rich and sometimes uncontrollable, which is strangely similar to Inuyasha's lack of self-control.
