The band was formed in 1976 when 14-year-old Larry Mullen Jr. posted an ad on the school bulletin board saying a drummer was looking for musicians to form a band.

U2 has won 22 Grammy Awards, more than any other band, and has become one of the best-selling music acts in the world.
