A boy carries in the basket of his bicycle, wrapped in a white sheet, an unusual friend, a small alien lost on Earth who is being pursued by government forces.

In their flight to find their fellows and return to his world, the two friends run to a forest in California, where they must land the spaceship that will rescue him.

To escape a police roadblock, the little alien uses his telekinetic abilities to levitate the bike, lifting them into the air and flying above the trees to their destination.

This anthology scene, which has the moon as its background, was also used in the promotion of the film, becoming one of the most famous and striking images in cinematography, even becoming the logo of Amblin Entertainment.
