Mega Man X8, known as Rockman X8 in Japan, is a video game developed by Capcom for the Sony PlayStation 2 console.

It is the eighth and, to date, final game in the Mega Man X series.

The plot of Mega Man X8 centers around the kidnapping of a state-of-the-art "Reploid" from a space elevator construction site and the subsequent pursuit of his captors.

Over the course of the game, the motivations of these kidnappers become apparent, and the heroes, led by X, must stop them.

The gameplay in Mega Man X8 is similar to the other games in the series where the player has to complete a series of stages.

Defeating their bosses will earn that player character their special weapon, which differs between each character.
